Austmaar is a fictional Swedish based Fish Cannery that strives to bring traditional Swedish Herring to foreign audiences, mainly American. Austmaar prioritizes fresh caught and authentic Swedish herring, portrayed through the use of playful Scandinavian imagery and type, with the floral elements and slightly textured drawings to tie these themes together while the drawn look and slight imperfections add to the charm of a carefully hand crafted product.
Their variations of fish and flavor is perfect for clean eating with the simple imagery and description of simple ingredients, lending to a brand that doesn't hide what's in their protein packed product. The name "Austmarr" is a direct reference to the old Scandinavian name for the Baltic Sea, which is primarily where Scandinavian Herring is caught. The tin design kept orientation in mind, so that the long side of the tin as well as the top can be displayed on store shelves.
